Here is a quick little post to let you know about this adorable math facts site. I found this through Pinterest. Math Mayhem is an adorable, timed game. Students from around the country or around the world can compete against each other using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills. These games also develop good keyboarding skills.
The more questions students answer correctly, the more points they are awarded. The only down-side to this fast-paced game are the sound effects. Can we say "headphones required"? Wow! Kids will love it though! By the way, if you haven't discovered Pinterest and you need an invite, please comment below. You can find so many great technology resources for your classroom! Hit me up!

School Time is Around the Corner!
First of all, let me welcome all the new followers! I appreciate you being patient with me as I took some time off of technology (eek!) and concentrated on finishing my Masters this summer. I'm gearing up for the upcoming school year, changing grades, and I am ONE project away from my degree! So close I can feel myself relaxing already! I attended a fabulous workshop this morning that has my techie-wheels spinning!
To get back in the mode of blogging, I want to share a presentation with you on implementing Google in your classroom. The presentation is long, so grab a diet Coke or a cup of coffee! There are some fantastic ideas for making Google work for you and your students.
I'll be back to posting regularly beginning next week! See ya soon!

Do You Know What Looks Great?
MY BLOG BUTTON! Ok, it kinda looks great. It's a first attempt. I got obsessive about not having a button and then my husband knew I wasn't going to shut-up about it until it was finished. So now I have a blog button for this wonderful blog and I hope you'll steal the code and spread the love! (I sure would love a comment telling me that you've stolen the code....I'd like to view my button out there on the great wide web!)
And don't forget.....you want to become a follower of my other blog...Sturch's Second Grade Stars!

I have been a teacher for 16 great years (but I'm still only 21...hee hee) but this will be my first venture in second grade. If you have a great sense of humor, come follow me on this journey. This new blog will be for fellow teachers, students, and parents! All are welcome here....and there.

Gudli

Gudli is great little site that I just discovered after reading a post over on iLearnTechnology's site. (If you haven't discovered them, you should definitely head over there.)
Gudli is designed for early education students, Pre-K-1st, but would be appropriate as a center activity for grades 2-3 as well. It is well designed, easy to navigate, and very colorful. Children will be engaged from the moment they enter the site.
"Gudli is a unique online experience for kids where they enjoy learning. With our interactive educational games children develop skills in maths, logic, memory, words, creativity and more. Gudli is free, full of fun, easy to use and the ideal learning space for preschoolers to second grade kids."
I will be posting less during the summer because I am trying to finish graduate school and prepare to change grade levels for the next school year. I hope you'll keep checking back on this little blog and please consider becoming a follower! Wishing you a fantastic summer!
